What this test measures:
Estradiol ~ Progesterone ~ Testosterone
These three key reproductive hormones are synthesized in the ovaries and are the primary hormones impacted by menopause. After menopause, small amounts are still synthesized in the adrenal glands.
Cortisol* ~ DHEA
These adrenal hormones can be negatively impacted by menopause because the adrenal glands become the main source of reproductive hormone synthesis after menopause. *Note that the Cortisol measurement needs to be taken 4 times in the course of 1 day for an accurate picture.
